VINTAGE HORROR HOST TV BROADCASTS!

GHOST HOST THEATRE

WBFF-TV, Channel 45 (Baltimore, Maryland)

Show opened with a painting of an old mansion in a rain storm, with GHOST HOST walking through the woods toward the house. He entered, walked down a staircase into a dungeon, where he spoke the lines: "Goood evening. This...is your GHOST HOST! Inviting you to watch if you DARE!"

Ghost Host's mouth was shadowed (Lewis was reciting Hamlet) so the same footage could be used every week with new audio dubbed over it. Great vintage stuff!

George Lewis also played kid's show host Captain Chesapeake.

HIGHWAY PATROL Complete Series on DVD Broderick Crawford!

HIGHWAY PATROL

1955-1959

Complete Series 156 Episodes/20 DVD Set

Destined to become one of the most popular syndicated television shows of all time, Highway Patrol screamed onto the scene with fast cars and the catch phrase "10-4". Each week, Chief Dan Matthews (Broderick Crawford) would lead his troops into another roadway adventure.

Crawford's Matthews was a tough, no-nonsense Chief of the Highway Patrol, that was in actuality based on the California Highway Patrol, though no state is named. The actual head of the CHP acted as show consultant for the first season and during that season, the actors who portrayed officers wore CHP uniforms, without the name California on the shoulder patch.

THE MILLIONAIRE Classic 1950's TV Series on DVD!

The Millionaire, a television drama anthology series ( January 19, 1955—September 28, 1960), explored the ways unexpected wealth changed life for better or for worse. The show became a five-season hit thanks in large part to a twist that also made it a bit of a cult classic in the years that followed its life in the so-called "Golden Era" of U.S. television. The show centered around the stories of unknown people who were given, seemingly out of nowhere, one million dollars from a benefactor who insisted they never know him.

He was John Beresford Tipton, sketched as a semi-retired industrialist and shown obscured by one of his high-backed leather chairs, viewers seeing only his right arm as he reached for a cashier's check for one million dollars, each week, and handed it to his executive secretary, a mild-mannered, good-humored, but no-nonsense man named Michael Anthony. It was Anthony's job to travel and deliver that check to its intended recipient, staying only long enough to present the gift and then, customarily, leaving the recipient's life forever.
